The 10-Year Pre-Renewal Arbitrage Strategy
Under RFC and ICANN guidelines, generic top-level domains can be registered or renewed for a maximum cumulative duration of 10 years into the future. When a registry operator files an official notice with ICANN to increase wholesale prices, the new fee only applies to transactions conducted on or after the announced effective date.
